My friend Heather, of Heather Reda Designs, has always had a thing for home decor. When she's not at work or spending time with her family, you'll find her at the Brimfield Antique Show, HomeGoods, or your neighbor's yard sale.
Shortly after getting married, Heather and her husband bought a small ranch, which had belonged to a family member, from back in the seventies, when Lake Archer was a summer hot spot for many New England families. The house was remodeled nine years ago, and following lots of patience, hard work, and long searches for the perfect decorative pieces, the walk-out basement was finally finished this past spring. Every item was picked with a mindful budget, and each project was DIY. For example, the barn door below was built by Heather's husband, and weathered with nails, a hammer, and a blow torch! The lower level space is so beautiful that you don't want to do much more than sit on the couch and admire it.
